Attributes
Apply attribute values on process documents
Custom attributes let you record structured facts about each process document, such as its owning department, its review date, or its policy status. For Processes, you choose the attribute groups once for the whole organization, and every document gets the same fields.
In the app: Business Context › Processes › Attribute Groups
Before you start¶
- Create the attribute groups and their attributes on Governance › Attributes. See Create attribute groups and Create attribute definitions.
- Your organization must not be in read-only mode.
Turn attribute groups on for Processes¶
- Go to Business Context › Processes and click
Attribute Groups. - Turn the
Assignedswitch on for each group that should apply to process documents. Each change saves immediately.
The dialog lists every attribute group in your organization, with a count of its attributes. If it says no attribute groups exist, create one on the Attributes page first.
Turning a group on applies it to every process document at once. You can’t assign a group to only some documents.
Set a document’s values¶
- Open the document and go to its
Attributestab. - Each assigned group appears as its own section. Fill in the fields. Required fields are marked with
*. - Click
Save.
A message confirms the values were saved. See Apply attribute values on schemas and their objects for how each data type’s input behaves.
