Create your first organization

Everything in Kenseme lives inside an organization: schemas, ontologies, glossaries, Pipelines, users and billing. If you sign in and don’t belong to any organization yet, Kenseme opens a setup page so you can create one.

Should you create an organization?

  • Yes, if you’re the first person from your team to use Kenseme, or you’re starting a trial.
  • No, if a colleague’s organization already uses Kenseme. Ask their admin to invite you instead. See Accept an invitation.

Create it

The setup page holds the four-step Set up your workspace wizard: Company, Team, Goals, then Trial or Plan. You become the new organization’s administrator. Sign up and the onboarding wizard walks through every step.

When you finish, Kenseme makes the new organization your current one and opens Home.

If you expected an invitation

Under the wizard, two lines help if you’ve landed here by mistake:

  • Signed in as \ · Sign out: shows which account you’re using. Click Sign out to switch to another account.
  • Expecting an invitation? Ask your organization admin to send it to \, then sign in again.

Invitations are matched to one email address. If yours was sent to a different address, sign out and sign in with that address, or ask the admin to invite the address you’re using. Pending invitations are accepted automatically when you sign in.

What an organization gives you

  • A private workspace. Nobody outside it can see its content, and there is no public directory of organizations.
  • Users with roles. You start as Admin. Everyone you invite gets Read Only, Read/Write or Admin. See Roles in Kenseme.
  • One plan and one bill. See Plans and pricing.

You can belong to several organizations and switch between them. See What an organization is.

🚩 TODO: The setup page only opens automatically when you have no organization. Confirm whether members of an existing organization should create a second one by going to /create-organization, or through the Kenseme team.
